More Communing With Nature

Apparently living in Florida allows for frequent encounters with all sorts of creatures.  Some are pretty unusual, while others are found pretty much anywhere, but no matter the creature, it is always fun to get up close and personal with nature.

This peacock wandered through our neighborhood one evening about two weeks ago.  It was with two others at the time.  They got separated and this one ended up on the roof of the house across the street calling out to it's friends for several minutes.

Here is one of our butterflies.  If you recall from a previous posts, we had four caterpillars that were metamorphosing.  Two have emerged from the chrysalis.  We are still waintng to see if the two remaining ones will emerge or not.  It was really neat to release the butterflies and watch them fly away!

This little guy was found in the pool this week.  He was lucky someone saw him and was able to get him out.  The girls always love the opportunity to see a snake and these are docile enough to handle.  how pretty he was with his orange ring around his neck and his orange belly.
